چکیده

Background The aim of this study was to investigate the diameter, location, and frequency appearance posterior superior alveolar artery (PSAA), presence septa pathology in maxillary sinus on cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) slices. Two hundred CBCT records were included study. patients divided into dentate, partially dentate edentulous. Methods diameter type PSAA (intrasinus-intraosseous-superficial), distance between lower border crest; bone height measured from floor crest ridge; lateral wall medial sinus, evaluated. Results On right side, detected 86.5% left, 84.5%. Intraosseous most common (50%) left (51.5%). average distances 17.80±3.59 mm 17.83±3.61 side. There no significant correlation age (p>0.05). Conclusions observation slices is high. Preoperatively imaging can prevent potential vascular damages around sinus.

Anatomic Situation of Posterior Superior Alveolar Artery in Cone-Beam Computed Tomography Images in Maxillary Molar Region

Introduction: Bleeding is an important complication during implant placement. The aim of this study was to evaluate the anatomic situation of the posterior superior alveolar artery (PSAA) in cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) images in maxillary molar region in an Iranian population. Methods: In this descriptive cross-sectional study, CBCT scans of the edentulous regions of the posterior max...

Evaluation of the location of the posterior superior alveolar artery in the maxillary sinus by Cone beam computed tomography

Background: Considering the growing interest in dental implants to replace missing teeth and the subsequent increase in sinus augmentation surgery, one of the anatomical landmarks that may be injured during this procedure is the posterior superior alveolar artery (PSAA).The purpose of this study was to evaluate thelocation of PSAAusing cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans. Methods:160 CBC...

Evaluation of the posterior superior alveolar artery and the maxillary sinus with CBCT.

Assessment of the maxillary sinus anatomy before sinus augmentation is important for avoiding surgical complications, because of the close anatomical relationship between the posterior maxillary teeth and the maxillary sinus. The posterior superior alveolar artery (PSAA) is the branch of the maxillary artery that supplies the lateral sinus wall and overlying membrane. We evaluated the location ...

Evaluation of the Position and Course of the Posterior Superior Alveolar Artery by Cone-Beam Computed Tomography in an Iranian Population

Background and Aim: Understanding the vascular anatomy of the maxillary sinus plays an important role in the success of sinus grafting and determining the location of lateral osteotomy. The aim of the present study was to localize the posterior superior al-veolar artery (PSAA) and to measure the distance from this vascular canal to the maxil-lary sinus floor and alveolar crest by cone-beam comp...

Evaluation of the Posterior Superior Alveolar Artery Using Cone Beam Computed Tomography

BACKGROUND Maxillary posterior tooth region is an important area with respect to periapical surgery, implant placement, and sinus lifts. Posterior superior alveolar artery (PSAA) is located on the lateral wall of maxillary sinus and may become injured during such surgical procedures. Therefore, knowledge of the subject is essential to a clinician. The goal was to determine the anatomical relati...
